Florence: analysis of the cornu from Populonia
The cornu from Populonia (inv. 152342) was analyzed in the Archaeological Museum of Florence.
Also in this case the analysis was performed by X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy, in a totally non-invasive modality and without any treatment of the surfaces, in order to characterize the compositions of the metal alloy.
Giorgia Agresti and Claudia Pelosi performed the analysis with the assistance of Carlo Brignola and Emiliano Li Castro.

The cornu from Populonia (inv. 152342) was analyzed in the Archaeological Museum of Florence.

Main results: the alloy was made of copper and tin. As in the case of the Tarquinia lituus, the tin content is very low.
