Filming in Scotland, June 2015

June 2015 also saw us filming in Scotland for both the Soundgate exhibition installation and the documentary film we are producing.

We headed first to the Isle of Skye to interview John Purser, composer, musicologist and music historian. An expert in Scottish music, John also initiated the reconstruction of the Iron Age Deskford Carnyx, producing a replica which was first played by trombonist, John Kenny.

We then had the opportunity to record John Kenny in glorious Scottish weather, playing the Deskford Carnyx, Tintignac Carnyx and Loughnashade horn at Callanish Standing Stones on the Isle of Lewis.
